Building a globally connected, resilient Pride movement
InterPride’s 2025–2027 Strategic Plan sets a clear direction for strengthening the global Pride movement at a time when solidarity, visibility, and collective action are more vital than ever.
Developed through a 2024 member survey and a series of strategic planning workshops in 2025, the plan identifies four focus areas that will guide InterPride’s work over the next two years: Networking, Financial Sustainability, Capacity Building, and Advocacy.
Together, these priorities reflect InterPride’s commitment to supporting Pride organisations around the world, amplifying underrepresented voices, and advancing the rights, safety, and visibility of LGBTQI and SOGIESC communities globally.
Our vision
InterPride envisions a world where every LGBTQI and SOGIESC community can thrive with dignity, equity, and freedom, supported by a globally connected, culturally inclusive, and resilient Pride movement.
Our mission
InterPride exists to uplift the global Pride movement by strengthening connections between Pride organisers, supporting shared learning and collaboration, equipping members with practical tools and knowledge, advancing member-led advocacy, and promoting financial resilience across the Pride movement.
A central priority of this plan is ensuring that underrepresented voices—especially those from the Global South—are visible, included, and supported in global Pride spaces.
Strategic focus areas
1. Networking
InterPride will foster meaningful, respectful, and strategic connections across cultures, regions, and roles.
Key actions include creating role-based member networks, facilitating themed virtual mixers and collaborative spaces, introducing structured listening sessions at Annual General Meetings, and regularly engaging the Global Advisory Council.
These efforts will help members share knowledge, build relationships, and collaborate across borders.
2. Financial Sustainability
InterPride will work to secure its long-term financial sustainability while supporting member organisations and Pride platforms with tools and resources that build resilience.
The plan includes diversifying funding sources, developing an Ethical Fundraising Framework, and exploring more efficient ways to distribute grants and scholarships.
This work is grounded in a commitment to ethical fundraising, human rights values, and support for under-resourced Pride organisations.
3. Capacity Building
InterPride will provide practical, accessible, and culturally relevant resources for Pride organisers.
Planned actions include regular webinars with activists and subject-matter experts, mandatory training for Board members, staff, and members, and improved onboarding and ongoing support for new Pride organisers and volunteers.
These efforts will strengthen member capacity in areas such as governance, safety, advocacy, fundraising, anti-racism, and anti-transphobia.
4. Advocacy
InterPride will continue to position itself as a leading global voice for Pride organisers and platforms, working in collaboration with partners to respond to urgent human rights issues.
The plan includes mobilising targeted responses to human rights emergencies and formalising an international advocacy function, such as a Global Pride Advocacy Desk.
Through this work, InterPride will help amplify member voices and raise awareness of rights violations affecting Pride organisers, Pride platforms, and event participants—particularly around the freedoms of assembly, association, and expression.
Looking ahead
The 2025–2027 Strategic Plan provides a practical roadmap for InterPride’s next chapter. Some actions are prioritised for completion within the two-year cycle based on current resources, while additional actions may move forward as further human and financial resources are secured.
At its heart, this plan is about strengthening the global Pride movement: connecting organisers, sharing knowledge, building resilience, and standing together for dignity, equity, and freedom.
InterPride looks forward to working with members, partners, and communities around the world to bring this strategic plan to life.
